The first Australian Space Biology Symposium will focus on introducing attendees to advances in the field of space biology and medicine. Attendees will learn about the research and development of new types of pharmaceuticals, engineered tissues and upcoming medical technologies that leverage physical forces or target mechanical signaling pathways as a core part of cells and disease mechanisms of action.
Organized and hosted by UTS School of Biomedical Engineering Core Faculty members, Dr. Joshua Chou and Professor Joanne Tipper, the day will include a number of distinguished speakers from research institutions, government agencies and industry partners, who will provide examples of how space biology is being harnessed in ways that can transform the future of medicine.
